Enzymes For Sports
Enzymes for sports.....What should be an athlete’s main concern? It should be the type of food he eats to maintain a healthy body and replace nutrients lost during exercise or sport competition. The body needs many substances to function properly and they include enzymes, vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Many athletes think that consuming the correct nutrients is all that’s needed, but unfortunately eating the proper foods and nutrients are only half of the equation.

One major concern to the athlete is whether his system absorbs and properly utilizes the food he eats. The important word is "utilize", because usually the food he eats lacks the enzymes needed to utilize the food properly. Enzymes are essential in digesting food and releasing the needed nutrients in the food. Enzymes are needed for every metabolic function. Not one can happen without enzymes. If proteins aren’t digested properly then it can lead to bloating, fatigue, stiffness and hardening of the arteries. Undigested fats can thicken the blood.

Enzymes for sports ....It’s obvious that a person who exercises regularly is concerned about getting and staying in shape. Strength and endurance are his goals. It’s impossible to achieve endurance if his blood cells aren’t getting the proper nutrition. Nutrients are present in the food he eats, but the workforce of his body is in his enzymes. This is why most vitamins are called co-enzymes, because they must combine with enzymes before the body can use them. Both over-nutrition and under-absorption can result in low energy. Athletes often believe they don’t recover from exercise because they either overdid it or they didn’t do enough. But the real problem could be that their “body engine” has just stalled out due to lack of enzymes.

Enzymes for sports ....The more enzymes you take in by eating raw foods (preferably organic) or taking enzyme supplements the more energy you will have. More enzymes and energy are used in digesting food then in any other function in the body. If enzymes are provided to the body then more enzymes and more energy will be available for the body as a whole. More nutrients will be available and ;therefore, less food will be needed. This will result in less digestive stress and waste elimination. This is referred to as energy conservation. The athlete will be able to work out more often and with a greater intensity and he will require less recovery time.
